Delaware County residents will see a 2.8 percent increase in county property taxes this year. This means the owner of an average-value Delaware County home will pay a little over $700.
While many county departments succeeded in cutting costs this year, the tax increase is necessary in maintaining public safety operations, including geriatric care, mandated human services and 911 response.
Last year’s taxes increased 2.3 percent for Delaware County.
