If you’re looking for a new item to add to your unique collection, consider the newest and smelliest option up for auction – Curt Schilling’s bloody sock.
The sock is currently up for auction, but act quick since the auction ends in three days. Schilling wore the sock during the 2004 World Series when he helped pitch the Red Sox to their first championship in 86 years. The auction lists the sock as the “ultimate symbol of the end of the ‘Curse of the Bambino.'”
Schilling has since lost the money he earned as a baseball player, and his video game company 38 Studios LLC filed for bankruptcy in June. The sock is expected to go for around $100,000.
It’s common for athletes to auction off memorabilia in the face of bankruptcy, including former baseball player Lenny Dykstra who auctioned his World Series ring and various other mementos.
Don’t miss your chance to walk away with this steal.
