West Chester Law Firm Distributes Handbooks to Victims of Crime in Pennsylvania
LUONGO BELLWOAR LLP, a West Chester law firm, has written and released a handbook to help victims of crime in Pennsylvania better understand the events that happen after a crime. The handbook is titled “A Guide for Pennsylvania Crime Victims: Understanding Your Rights in the Criminal and Civil Justice Systems.”
The free handbook is available for digital download on the Luongo Bellwoar website, and copies of the handbook can be picked up from the LUONGO BELLWOAR LLP offices in West Chester and Paoli PA. The law firm is also distributing copies to organizations that help victims of crime in PA.
“Victims of crime endure months of trauma, confusion and stress in the weeks, months, and even years following the incident,” Tom Bellwoar, attorney for LUONGO BELLWOAR LLP, said. “This handbook is meant to guide victims through the criminal and civil justice systems.”
The handbook details what a victim should do following a crime, such as establishing contact with the District Attorney’s office and keeping records of medical bills and missed days of work. One section also provides contact information for local organizations that offer services and resources for crime victims.

The handbook also includes detailed examples of various types of crimes, including sexual abuse, assault & battery, negligence, nursing home abuse, and more.
