Bravo’s hit show, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” is a reality TV series, which depicts the luxurious and overdramatic lives of the rich wives of various high-powered elite in New Jersey. One of the stars, Teresa Giudice, and her husband, Giuseppe Giudice, turned out to be concealing quite a bit about their actual financial situation.
It has been revealed that the couple fraudulently submitted multiple loan applications with fake pay stubs to back them up. After they could not pay back the fraudulently obtained loans, the two filed for bankruptcy, conveniently leaving off Teresa’s potential income that was sure to come as a result of the new season of Housewives.
If convicted, the Giudices could face countless years in prison as well was many large fines. The crimes they are being tried for include mail and wire fraud, bank fraud and loan application fraud, and bankruptcy fraud. As of now, it appears that the Giudices will be pleading not guilty to the charges and are maintaining their innocence. Teresa released following statement to New Jersey’s Star-Ledger:
Today is a most difficult day for our family. I support Joe and, as a wonderful husband and father, I know he wants only the best for our lovely daughters and me. I am committed to my family and intend to maintain our lives in the best way possible, which includes continuing my career. As a result, I am hopeful that we will resolve this matter with the Government as quickly as possible.
